Okay, I misunderstood what was going on. After you failed to find the correct environments, did you double back to the document class and confirm that it was set to Beamer (meaning that your choice was neither ignored nor bumped up or down one to due to your mouse having a case of nerves)?
Hi Paul, Yes, checking the class type was the first thing I did.
If the problem is consistently repeatable, you might want to check and make sure that the beamer layout (/usr/share/lyx/layouts/beamer.layout on my box) didn't somehow get overwritten or symlinked to the wrong file.
Nope. Same locatation here and it's a not a symlink. Modifying an existing file works fine, but I've now run into a different issue. In prior presentations I've divided the slide into two columns and put images in the right one. For this presentation (which might be shown to a jury) I want each image on a separate slide at 85% of the text width. This works well and displays nicely. But, I cannot find how to enter an 'end frame' environment after the slide. On slides with all text or two columns (text and image) blocking and increasing depth inserts and end frame. This does not happen when I use the whole slide area for the image. Increasing depth adds the header 'Frame' to the left of the image but on the same slide. I'm not finding an end frame environment in the pull down list or on a menu, and my web searches do not find results specific to a frame containing only an image. The Beamer Manual (Help -> Specific Manuals -> Beamer does not discuss this situation. Any thoughts on this? Rich
