It seems that kdvi arguments are not compatable with xdvi. You could write
a wrapper program called eg. "viewdvi" as a shell scripts, which would
convert the arguments from xdvi to kdvi, then call kdvi, simple if you
know bash programming, difficult otherwise.

Simpler way would be to modify LyX. I don't know how.
