I have a tif image, convert it to eps with ImageMagick convert, and insert that
eps-file into Lyx. The image is
much larger then a page, so I scale it to 80 % of side width. Now the size of the
border is correct but the
content of that border is only the lower left corner of my image, i. e. the image
is not scaled but trimmed.
In the resulting dvi-file everything is fine, but it would be helpful to have it
displayed correctly in lyx also.

PS:
The tiffinfo of the original file is
TIFF Directory at offset 0x23038
Image Width: 1200 Image Length: 900
  Resolution: 150, 150 pixels/inch
  Bits/Sample: 8
  Compression Scheme: PackBits
  Photometric Interpretation: RGB color
  Image Description: "MATLAB Handle Graphics"
Orientation: row 0 top, col 0 lhs
  Samples/Pixel: 3
  Rows/Strip: 2
  Planar Configuration: single image plane
