As the Win32 port requires an X server, could it be something fishy about the way you have configured your X server? Have you tried other video settings (e.g. 8/16/32 bit resolution)? The reason I ask is because I have experienced some abnormalities when running in 24-bit mode. Not with LyX, but with other programs. - Idar Tollefsen
