Something you might find helpful here is the utility called makebst. It
allows you to make a bst file, which is used to extract info from your
bib files and format the bibliography in an appropriate style (in this
case, without the titles and other fields). It is the BST file which
does the work. You should find it in your tex distribution, or via
CTAN, and full documentation is supplied.
