I would recommend you rebuild from the src RPM.

Get the src RPM file from my FTP site at the address
ftp://ftp.sylvan.com/pub/lyx/lyx-1.1.5-1.src.rpm and then do this:

        rpm --rebuild lyx-1.1.5-1.src.rpm
        cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386
        rpm -Uvh lyx-1.1.5-1.i386.rpm

You will then be building LyX against your native libraries. What you
are describing sounds like an incompatibility between the SuSE 6.3 libraries
and the Redhat 6.X libraries.
