for latex an appendix is just like the same as a chapter, so you
have the same style of counting and labeling in the appendix.

yes, it's "Appendix" and with germanstyle it becomes "Anhang"

do you ever try book(AMS)-style? it's a little bit different to
komscript, especially for appendix. i prefer this document class.
