At moment, no. But I can imagine several hand made cases where that
property would be very useful. Even better than if you code that in latex.
OTOH, that is one of those pesky cases that confuses new users, and
where the behaviour of lyx is counter-intuitive. I think this deserves
the trouble, and the solution is general.
