Don;t forget the 120+ pages user guide.

Tru64 unix 4.0f comes to mind.

OK, you asked for it.

* first the general tone is fine with me.

* at several places the fonts do not adhere to the DocStyle (but you
probably already know that). Example: section 1.3, Help->Tutorial.

* 1.5: you could also mention the memory taken by LyX (with user guide
    loaded, for example)

* 1.6: it is not before version 1.0 that xforms will be open source.
It will probably not be GPL, though.

* 2.1: maybe mention the web site mirrors too.

* 2.2: the two sites are indeed the same. There is a list of mirrors
on the web site, I think.

* 2.3: point to the mailing list page at the web site. You could add a
specific question about (un)subscribing the lists.

* 4.1: note that LyX 1.1.x needs a MODERN C++ compiler. Currently known
to work are gcc 2.8.1 and newer (egcs, gcc 2.95.x), DEC cxx 6.1.
Sun CC 5.0 does not work yet, but it should.

* 4.2: the first step in the compile step should be ./configure, for
the (wise) people who do not have '.' in their PATH. You could
point to the INSTALL file too.

* 5: explain what the LaTeX preamble is. Note maybe that ERT and
preamble work for SGML too (am I right wrt the preamble?).

* 6.5: what's wrong with "math-insert root" (M-m r)?
