You probably need to upgrade your tetex installation. 

If you're using Redhat 6.0, then you need to do two things:

1) Upgrade your RPM to rpm-3.0.2 (get the RPM from www.rpm.org)

2) Upgrade your tetex using either the contrib RPM from redhat or my
   tetex RPMs (at ftp://ftp.sylvan.com/pub/tetex). Bear in mind that my
   tetex RPMs are based on a beta snapshot.
