Aspell 0.60.4 with my patch in development/Win32/patches (1.4 branch) works fine with MinGW. That's the one included in the current Windows release.

For C libraries MinGW/MSVC can be mixed right? So libintl/libiconv can remain MinGW compiled if we can't manage to get them to work with MSVC?

Most of the GnuWin32 C library packages contain static libs for MSVC and some contains dll also (zlib).

Internal libintl compile fine with MSVC. The GnuWin32 latest iconv package contains a static lib for MSVC. It links fine but I seem to remember that the pollish support does not work and that it was a libiconv issue.
