Hi Bo,
last week you kindly changed the configure.py script to display
immediately the currently checked LaTeX-page. This works perfectly when
the user can see the printouts of the script but LyX currently hides them.
The problem is the following: When a user installs LyX for the first
time or has refreshed his LaTeX installation, the first start of LyX
will run configure.py that invokes MiKTeX to install missing
LaTeX-packages needed by LyX. Installing the packages could last up to
15 minutes; in this time the user get no response what is currently
happening: The internet connections is under full use and LyX isn't started.
To avoid this it would be cool if LyX displays the printout of
configure.py as long as it runs in an appearing console window - this
was the case with the old configure script.
Do you have an idea to reimplement this feature?
thanks and regards
Uwe
