I suspect that there is a problem with the little wrapper program. If memory 
serves me right, most of the code was a command line parser that uses '/' to 
indicate an option is coming.

Why not hack the parser to use '-' --- if you need the options at all, which I 
suspect you don't...

Further, if you're correct and /foo/bar causes problems, then why not 
transform such paths to \foo\bar form before spawning lyx.exe?
