Only on windows... on linux (with emacs bindings) C-y will yank from
selection., but also from clipboard... depends really...

I vote against this behavior. Users should be given a clear idea what
C-y (or C-v) do. The webpage Georg refers to also recommends clear
separation of CLIPBOARD and SELECTION.

Again, I would propose:

1. use a single, system clipboard for every clipboard action. This
will make copy paste between applications much easier.

2. use copy/cut/paste for CLIPBOARD, select/middle button for
SELECTION. There is no interference between these two lines of
copy/paste.

The problem of this approach, as far as I can see, is copy/paste
between math and text mode. I think we can do the most  intuitive
thing. Namely, if the clipboard has formula, and the cursor is in text
mode, create a formula with the formula, and vise vesa.
