Still the same old song... The moment LyX requires Qt4, as most distros
will want to have LyX they will package Qt4 anyway. So your point is void.
Qt4 is _much_ more portable than LyX so that wouldn't be a huge effort.
This effort is underway in any case with KDE4. Maintaining 4 frontends
at the same time is a very tiring exercise that remove the fun in coding.
