That's because you installed Aspell in C:\Aspell using the data
installer intended for the current release of LyX (1.4.1). This location
will of course be remembered so nobody has to reinstall dictionaries.

If you want to change this location, reinstall the Aspell data using
http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/Windows/Aspell6/aspelldata-0.60.4.exe

You still need the 1.4.2svn Windows installer to get this to work.

SH: I unfortunately downloaded the old aspelldata installer from:

http://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/Aspell6 [The link is to this .exe \/.]
http://wiki.lyx.org/uploads/Windows/Aspell6/aspelldata-0.60.4-root.exe
I should have realized that the ~60.4.exe wouldn't be released yet.
The new, select a destination install folder, was just the ticket!

Your aspelldata-0.60.4.exe works much better! I changed the Work
directory and the Temp directory from C: to F: and that worked. I
made a mistake about not listening to you about the German dictionary;
the English dictionary worked fine (except for the 2nd misspell bug).

Best regards and well done!
Stephen
