But we took several years to arrive at this level of functionality because *we* wanted it. If you're seriously interested in a long term goal of getting rid of the autotools, you should be replicating what they do for us. You certainly shouldn't be scrapping things that, as I said, took several years to arrive at, just because you can't be bothered to implement them. Remember, LyX runs on a vast collection of machines other than Windows and Linux and these unices often have "unusual" behaviours. Don't limit yourself. <\shrug> Angus
