Here are my numbers using the userguide (after all images have been loaded, same window and font dimensions): lyx-qt3-Q../Win: 23 seconds lyx-qt4.1.3-mingw: 52 seconds (Abdel's version) lyx-qt3-cygwin-X11: 25 seconds lyx-qt3-linux-X11: 21 seconds (debian testing) So, this is document-dependent. Using a document with a lot of equations and figures, lyx-qt3-cygwin-X11 is three times faster than lyx-qt3-Q../Win which, in turn, is about two times faster than lyx-qt4.1.3-mingw. I can't explain the difference between 38 and 52 seconds when using lyx-qt4.1.3-mingw. I have Win2k, whereas Abdel has WinXP, if that matters. -- Enrico
