It is linux I am concerned about. We have a much richer environment
there and we want our build system to be able to cope.

Then, at least you have already successfully compiled it under linux,
right? I am going to commit your patch, with a few other improvements.

This is why I want scons to prove itself _before_ it is added to
trunk, to show that it actually can do what it claims to be able to.

Please wait for a few days. With the helping hands from Enrico and
Abdel (and ...), I should be able to prove it to you. If you are still
not convinced, I will remove the whole scons stuff. (It must feel good
to be the boss. )

I have been generally happy with scons since it has very a simple
design and I can implement features I want easily. For example, I can
use glob to detect libboost libraries and add a logging system easily
by modifying the internal spawn interface. I do have some complains
but they are mostly addressed by waf (the kde variant of scons).

Sure, but they could have done that looking at a patch or a branch as
well.

Nothing is easier than svn update. :-)

PS. Praeterea censeo Sconsiem esse de lendam

Can anyone translate this for me? This does not read like 'good
morning'. I may have to fight back in Chinese here.
