1. When lyx opens a file, it checks its signature. If the file is
compressed, decompress it and read. Extension does not really matter.
2. Lyx will save compressed/decompressed files in their original state.

This patch allows user to know and change the compression status of a
file. JMarc's suggestion seems to be better (put in document ->
settings), but it will take me, a qt newbie, much longer time to do
it.

I could probably help here (I am not considering myself a qt newbie anymore :-) ) but it would sure be better if you'd like to learn ;-)
