klyx was a port of LyX 0.12 to KDE but it never managed to really get up a head
of stream. The "discussions" at the time about whether to migrate LyX proper to
kde were... heated ;-)

Bo is probably thinking of Qt on Windows which has only recently been GPL-ed.
But LyX on Windows is only recent too...
