I don't think so, Jean-Marc. It is about how things are displayed on
screen. If the text on screen is insensitive to a change in the latex
font size, the previewed images should also be insensitive.

This would definitely be the right approach, and would also obsolete
preview_scale_factor, but I suspect that it is not that simple to
implement...
