How should I know. I still use fvwm2.

I know it's no problem to have the Qt libraries installed at the same
time.

And KDE seems to make a major effort to port lots of stuff to Qt 4 so at
the time LyX 1.5 appears I'd expect most KDE based distribution having
either completly switched to Qt 4 or, more likely, having developed a
strategy to run Qt 3 and Qt 4 based apps in parallel (where 'startegy'
is most likely 'do nothing as it just works')
