I think combining change tracking with version control is a *great* idea.  
That would have been enough for me in most situations when I was working
on stuff with other people. In addition, wouldn't this be useful in
slightly different situations compared to two people working on the same
document in real-time?

Maybe we should add these suggestions to bugzilla?
