Wow, atlast some light at the end of the tunnel. I had lyx installed in c:\program files\ and msys was in c:\ (that was the default for me too similar to Stephen) Like Stephen mentioned, that seemed to be the problem. I reinstalled lyx in c: and now I am able to access Tex Information and the bst files. Thanks a lot guys
