Paul, can you try setting the path to the bind file again (so it's
recognized incorrectly as "C:\Program" and post the line starting
"\bind_file" in C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Application
Data\lyx\preferences

\bind_file C:/Program Files/LyX/Resources/lyx/bind/cua.bind

For comparison purposes:

\ui_file "C:/Program Files/LyX/Resources/lyx/ui/default.ui"

(note the quotes).

Well here I get:
\bind_file "C:\Program Files\LyX\Resources\lyx\bind\emacs.bind"

which demonstrates that the bug is squashed in the LyX sources. Note that the thing is not only protected by quotes but has a Windows-style path.

I'm rather suspicious of your statement that LyX136pre_ver17 produced the results you show --- unless I've been drinking rather more strong coffee than is good for me and uploaded an old version to the wiki site ;-). If you saved this path with an earlier version, then I'd be much more comfortable.

Of course, if you tell me that I'm off with the fairies and that you get what you observe by

1. deleting the line in the preferences file using your favourite text editor.
2. Saving the entry afresh within LyX.

then I'll just have to eat large amounts of humble pie to soak up all this extraneous caffeine.

Don't know about cricket, but in baseball, if you can bat one-for-two consistently you'll be very well paid. :-)

I don't think that there's such a thing as a well-paid cricketer...
