Two minor issues regarding the default preferences. First, on my system the screen fonts defaulted to (in order) AgencyFB, AgencyFB, and Courier. AgencyFB is apparently the first font on my PC both alphabetically (as listed in the drop-down list in the preferences dialog) and ordered by aesthetics (ugliest font first). Times New Roman and Arial would make better choices for the first two fonts.

Known Qt/WinFree bug. See the bottom of the wiki page.

Also, for whatever reason, the screen DPI defaulted to 81, which seems an odd choice unless one prefers powers of primes. I'm just curious if this is by design or by quirk? (I use 96 DPI.)

Ditto.

It's probably quite simple to create a minimal test case for each which I can pass over to the Qt/WinFree people. When they squash 'em, I'll just upload qt-mt.dll and all will be rosy.

One other minor issue: how do we tell which version we're testing. I know this is prerelease candidate 9, because I just downloaded it from the Wiki, but by tomorrow I will have forgotten, and the Help -> About LyX entry thinks it was dated October of last year.

Well, mate, if you think I'm going to recompile LyX because you've found a bug in the installer you've got another think coming.
(Add smileys here :-))

Linking LyX with the MinGW/MinSYS compiler chain takes the best part of 15 minutes, so I'll leave that for reports of bugs in LyX proper.

As for the date, well I guess that was the date of the release of 1.3.5. It'll get changed when Jean-Marc releases 1.3.6 proper.
