Let's do nothing about this bug and postpone it for after 1.4. I know that Uwe will hate me for that, but the current text-in-mathed (mbox etc.) solution has several limitations. The planned solution (mbox inset) is not ready yet and requires some major work (including lyx2lyx conversion which is in reality tex2lyx because the mbox inset stores text in LyX format). Fiddling with the old code is wasted time IMHO. If somebody really wants to do the work and Lars agrees we should work on MathMBoxInset. Then we get the other missing features ($ etc.) for free. But I really think we should get out 1.4 first. Georg
