Of course full scale devel cvs. What you could do is to add some diagnostic messages in tex2lyx.C around line 365 in function tex2lyx. I suspect that IsFileReadable() or fs::is_writable() does not work correctly on solaris. It would be nice if you could find out if that is the case. Georg
