As I see it, you do not need to worry about this either. Asger is not 
proposing to muck with the existing build system at all. He's proposing to 
add an entirely separate one. Moreover, he appears to be talking about 
adding a maximum of one or two files to the root directory of the 
repository. Given that the reposititory currently contains 4309 files, I 
don't think that is any problem at all ;-)

My view? We've gone so far to make this bloody thing 'portable'. We should 
go the extra mile to prove that it actually is portable and not just 
'portable'. Otherwise, who are we trying to kid?
