That, I believe, is a symptom of the same font problem you and I have each had with Greek fonts in math environments. Curiously, I've found that the same LyX-1.3.5.app bundle copied to another machine works as it should, so it looks like something's strange with the way your and my machines are configured rather than a lyx problem.
Also, the help files are not accessible yet
That's my fault in just throwing the file up on the server for you to test: I inadvertently omitted them from the bundle.
