Thanks, Ling. I have a patch, which I'll post once cvs responds

Ok, nothing wrong with cvs. It just took it ages to ascertain all the changes to the po files that were caused by the invocation of msgmerge by 'make distdir'.

Attached is the gtk patch, as promised. Please confirm it works for
you.
It works for me. Thanks!

By the way, I switched to Subversion for my home-use repositories several months ago. I would like to share my impression of Subversion,

* Generally I like Subversion better. It supports rename/move, atomic commit; It keeps local copies of the current version so 'svn diff' doesn't require network connection, etc. Overall it is neater and more powerful.

* The tool (cvs2svn) to convert CVS repo. to Subverion one is still in development. The earlier versions had some problems though I haven't met with any with the recent versions.

* Subversion still suffers from subtle bugs, though it can be adopted for daily work. I cannot name any specific ones that would be bad to LyX development, but would expect sometimes things would be annoying.
