Yes, provided you are willing to make lyx2lyx fix it later :)

BTW, I could use some basic lyx2lyx patches for 1.3.4cvs (notably
about the non-ascii names in the .py files that produce warnings).
Concerning the importation of 1.4.0 files, I think it will be useful
only when the 1.4.0 format is finalized. We could even release a 1.3.x
version after 1.4.0, just to confuse people a bit more :)
