I suspect that this is Michael's 'CollapseStatus' patch that is biting you. He said that he would move on to the 'lyx2lyx' patch but hasn't done so yet. In future I think that we shouldn't accept patches that change the format without the lyx2lyx converter too.
I promise to behave better in the future :-(
Actually, I am working on a patch that combines the display modes of insetcharstyle with those of insetcollapsable. This once again will require a format change but I will try to make it as smooth as possible.
