Asger proposed a solution to this. Isn't the current, 1.4.x heirarchy something like: Insert->XYZ->External Material where I forget XYZ, leading to Insert->XYZ->XFig, etc. Of course, we might have a separate 'External' sub menu Insert->External->Latex File Insert->External->Vector graphic file Insert->External->Bitmap graphic file Insert->External->Xfig file Insert->External->Tgif file Insert->External->Dia file At least these might have bindable shortcuts, but I agree that the menus are creaking somewhat. Anyway, I'll try and add transforms to the External dialogs first. Thereafter, if you personally want to scrap use of InsetGraphic, then there's one less thing stoping you from doing so. -- Angus
