No... actually I would have preferred to use that kind of inset rather
than this collapsable inset. An inline, limited updatable inset,
freely nestable.

Actually as i see it, more important (for XML at least) than providing
layout and user configurability on-screen, on-paper and where not, is
providing a mechanism to tell LyX where element insets of a particular
kind are allowed to appear (i.e., paragraph layout or containing
element inset). Already that I found too challenging this time around
:-(
