I post here to try to find out what others are doing, in the vain hope to do some synchronization... I have made some research and it turns out that the easiest for me would be paris->somewhere->dresden, where somewhere is either Frankfurt, Munchen or Dusseldorf. I am looking for dates like 24/07--29/07. Does this seem OK? The typical pricing that I found is 350EUR and 3-4 hours of flight. OTOH, it has proven very difficult to find planes going to Altenburg (and for me going to stansted first is not so simple...). A question: how easy is it to go from dresden airport to the train station? [...] OK, I see now that going to leipzig is equally easy/expensive for me. Which one is better wrt going to chemnitz? Also, is it really necessary to book the train ticket in advance? JMarc
