enter a line of "lyx-code" with a few spaces followed by a word change the environment to "Section" the new section heading begins with spaces if this were correct behaviour, then the spaces wouldn't go away one by one when cursor left is pressed (which they do) these two behaviours are inconsistent, probably what the user wants is no spaces, so they should be cropped when changing environment from one supporting spaces to one not supporting them Darren
