First I would like to congratulate you for this
product. I enjoyed working with it.
Second, I have a wish list to improve Lyx.
a) Instead of pallet, I think configurable toolbars
are much easier to work with.
b) I noticed that the layout conversion of a file to
pdf can be different from that to dvi. However, if th
file is converted first to ps and after that to pdf,
the output of pdf is similar to dvi. Thereby, in order
to convert a file to pdf, I suggest to use the
following chain latex->ps->pdf.
c) Some of ERT commands do not work with lyx but work
fine if the file is converted first to latex [see b)
above]. For example the following lyx code:

\end_inset

The above code in lyx uses ERT to center the
encompassed figure and caption, i.e.
\begin {center}
figure
caption
\end{center}
The output if viewed in lyx is different compared with
the case when the file is converted first to latex.
In lyx the caption is NOT centered (although it
should), while in latex->dvi the caption IS centered.
c) Copy and Paste commands do not always work if used
with other programs.
