I have found a reproducible crash, at least on my computer.
I do not know if LyX is at fault, or XForms, or anything else.

The recipe :
I open LyX, go directly to Edit->Preferences->Language->Language, open
the box to choose the language (arrow on the right).
Then I change the virtual desktop of my window manager
(metacity-2.4.0.92-5, default on RH 8). The box with the languages
follows me, even if it should not. Then I click anywhere on the screen
outside the box, and LyX disappears saying only this :

>/opt/bin/lyx -dbg all
Niveau de débogage all
LyXComm: Pipe /home/rebollo/.lyxpipe.in already exists.
If no other LyX program is active, please delete the pipe by hand and
try again.BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) id: 41943207
Abandon

I have the same story with every XForms "arrow box", such as
Layout->Document->Document Class.
The only difference is the BadMatch id number.

My system is a RedHat 8.0, and I use Gnome shipped with Redhat.

Output of lyx --version :
/opt/bin/lyx --version

If you can tell me how to produce a better bug report, I'll do my best.
