ldd `which lyx` | grep fontconfig We should at least note that known distributions that uses fontconfig are RH8 and Debian unstable. We should also note that for QT w/o fontconfig, the xfonts directory should be added to the font path. This is done automatically by LyX if LyX is run on the local machine, and the X server supports Postscript fonts. Otherwise, the directory should be added to the font path, according to the OS.
