Actually, there are only four languages with a reasonable number of translations: da, de, fi, and fr. The rest falls far behind. So we can expect there is only a marginal overhead for these but benefits for all the other ones.
If you still have doubts, we might ask the translators of the four
main languages (minus myself) whether they agree with the patch.
