I had an idea which was to have inset templates. An inset template
would be an inset (maybe created in a lyx file, or hardcoded) which is
used as a model for creating a new inset (ie one uses .clone() instead
of new). An inset template for a figure float could contain a graphics
inset and a caption (maybe with bogus text).

If this is configurable (for example in a lyx file, which is read and
where only the insets are kept as model), then it could replace the
old code we had to insert figures centered with some funky spacing.
