  Because earlier the internal structure was a real mess, much worse than now.
  As it is getting, I am more and more in favour of that.

  That would imply some changes to the layout files, and previously Jean-Marc 
proposed something like that (several times) :-). Some if not all of my 
objections are gone, now that I'm getting as wise as Jean-Marc. ;-)

  Also as I remember Lars approves it, but not for 1.3.0 ;-)

  I think that with 1.4.cvs we should work to make that. Also I should say now 
that lyx2lyx was also a step in that direction, it was always my secret plan.
