That is, "style = XIMPreeditNothing|XIMStatusNothing", in lib/flresource.c of xforms-1.0 source tree to "style = XIMPreeditPosition|XIMStatusNothing" , first suggested by Miyata solves the problem. My concern, however, is that since this change in the source code is not general enough for the general users of xforms library, the patch for the change may not be accepted in the xforms community. Any idea or comments ? cghan
