Ok, it chokes on the missing . but reads it fairly well nevertheless. If the '.' is added it "works" insofar as the @{\quad,\quad} is silently ignored. It does not freeze here. Maybe we should issue a warning about the mis-reading of the special column, but that's the only problem I see.
