Removing "standard extensions" only is fine with me.

Nevertheless I think a more uniform approach would be nice and less
trouble.  We could e.g. ask all graphics insets about "their" extension
at validate() time and put suitable \DeclareGraphicsExtensions in the .tex
automatically.
