I'd like to mention a behaviour that to a "normal" looks like a bug in
lyx.
What happens is that the lyx ui stops responding while latex runs.
Normally this is fine, but I encountered a situation where latex loops
infinitely, with the consequence that lyx seems to have crashed. In my
case, I resumed control after a minute. This behaviour, which I thought
was a bug was discussed at:
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708
and I was finally asked to bring it up here. So, to the questions:
* Is it correct that lyx "hangs" while waiting for latex to finish?
* Wouldn't it be better if the lyx ui still worked, at least with the
possibility of using the dialog: view->child process ?
In the end of the bug discussion, I also suggested a button on the toolbar
that indicates that lyx has child processes running, and when you click on
this you'll open the view->child processes dialog..
