*grin* I can believe that. It's directly taken from LaTeX's output, and that's even a bit more cryptic than its input. I usually do not try to understand the error message either, but to think what could have gone wrong there... But I think there can't be done much about it. In ERT land everything is possible (TeX could be abused as a full-blown programming languange, I've once seen a Basic interpreter in TeX...), so you are on your own.
