This is the behavior for all font change commands: when you add a character at the end of the paragraph, the font is (usually) the same as the font of the last character of the paragraph. So a possible solution to your problem is either: - Write the French text, and add a single char (e.g. space) after it. Mark the French text (not included the added char) and change the language to French. - Write the the French text, and change its language to French. Then, unselect the text, and in the character dialog press the apply button (the "Toggle" button should be selected). However, for inserting URLs, you need to use insert->URL, without changing the language.
